About Confido Advice & Investments

After I spent nearly 12 years growing a small wealth management firm as both an employee and owner, it became clear to me that there is a significant gap in our industry for clients who have complex planning needs but a fragmented network of professional advocates.

Between the CPA, CFO, attorneys, residential staff, realtors, and investment advisors, opportunity cost looms large without integration, coordination, and a clear vision—Your North Star.

Confido was created to provide forward-thinking wealth creators, such as business owners and highly compensated executives, and wealth maximizers, like those in the second, third, or fourth generation of wealth, with comprehensive tax and estate planning combined with fully customizable, fiduciary financial planning and investment advice under one roof.

A History Lesson

From an early age, my mother sent my brother and me off to school with the words, “Be a leader.” That simple, yet nuanced, appeal has long been a North Star in my personal life as well as within my profession and my community.

Servant leadership is also reflected in our firm’s name: Confido. Latin for “trust me,” History records that King Alexander III of Scotland called out the word, while raising his right hand with the index and middle fingers extended, to Robert Boyd in 1263, as Boyd was leading a detachment of men to clear Vikings from the high ground. From then until the mid-1700s, members of the Boyd Clan were economic and military advisors to Scottish royalty, from Robert the Bruce and James I, II and III to Mary, Queen of Scots, and Bonnie Prince Charlie. Confido and the upraised hand also serve as the Boyd Clan’s crest—and are proudly embedded in our firm’s logo.
